FIT4LIFE - SHAPE UP HARROW!
Levels of weight have shown a sharp increase in London in the last year with an increase of between 5-6% in the numbers of obese or overweight children in our schools. As you know this is a major concern for us and we lead on this in Harrow through the Fit4Life Harrow project. We work very closely with Public Health and share ideas. They have a new initiative to support adults to control weight that we want to support.
‘Shape-up Harrow' is a FREE 12 WEEK weight management course for Harrow residents aged 18-65 years old, who are overweight (BMI of 30 or greater).
*Sessions are 90 minutes long and run weekly at Salvatorian College in Harrow Weald.
More details and an explainer video can be found at Freeweight management programme - Harrow Council. To sign up use the website
It is also expected that children have 60 minutes of exercise everyday, 30 minutes at school and 30
minutes at home. Please make this a daily focus to help your child stay as healthy as possible which will
greatly benefit them in all areas of their lives.
For even more ideas you can go onto the Better Health NHS website.
Let us know if we can support.

We’re delighted to share that our theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2022 is Growing Together. It’s all about growing emotionally – trying new things that can help us move beyond our comfort zone, and recognising that challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt. You can find resources to use throughout the week on the Children's Mental Health Week website.
